Stourhead 2-for-1 entry

Get one free entry with one full-paying adult, with your Gardeners’ World Magazine 2-for-1 entry card. Valid at 416 gardens.

First laid out by the modestly named Henry ‘the Magnificent’, these Wiltshire gardens were described as a living work of art when they first opened nearly 300 years ago. This elegant landscape garden is now world famous. Each scene and vista seem to have been sketched out and planned, as if by a painter. These gardens evoke a romantic landscape of classical temples and hidden grottos, and the lights and shades of its planting reflect dreamily in the placid waters of its Great Lake. By early spring its sculpted hills are crowned with golden daffodils. Set around a glistening lake, it offers meandering paths and breathtaking views, with classical temples to catch the eye, a Palladian bridge, hidden grotto, magnificent trees, richly coloured rhododendrons and exotic magnolias. The circular lakeside walk is a delight in every season, with wildlife to spot and new vistas around every bend, while the lawns are perfect for picnics
