You Will Need

Step 1
Mix sand and cement (4:1) with water until it’s the consistency of a thick cake mixture. It shouldn’t be too sloppy or dry. Mix on an old piece of board so as not to ruin paving.
Step 2
Spread a layer of cement at the edge of a small section of lawn. Sit the bricks on the mortar making sure the ends meet and pushing them into the mixture with your hands.
Step 3
Settle the bricks in place by gently tapping with a rubber mallet. Ensure they look even and follow the line of the lawn as you work. Lay more bricks until all the lawn in edged.
Step 4
Rake border soil up to the bricks and don’t stand on them for a couple of days until they’ve set solid. You can mow the grass straight over the brick edging.
